2026-2027 Compactor Pass

- The 2026-2027 compactor pass is enclosed with the 2025 Village summer tax bill. Village of Elk Rapids tax paying residents receive a new pass each year. For 2026-2027 the pass is GREEN. Please reuse the plastic cover or stop by the Village offices or the compactor for a new cover.

- The compactor pass should be visible to the compactor operator either by holding it up or placing it on the dashboard as you circle around the building.

- The expiration date of the 2026-2027 compactor pass is August 1, 2027. This allows for a one-month grace period.

- A lost pass can be reissued to the property owner upon receipt of a $40.00 fee payable at the Village Offices.

- Compactor passes allow for the disposal of household refuse only and up to six (6) bags each day the compactor facility is operating.

- If landlords do not issue a pass to the tenant of their property, the renter shall purchase compactor bags at the Village Market or make other arrangements for their refuse disposal.

- Non-village residents can use the compactor with compactor bags purchased at the Village Market.

- The compactor is open Wednesday 11:00 am – 7:00 pm and Saturday 9:30 am – 5:00 pm.

- Guidelines for acceptable materials are posted at the compactor facility.

- The compactor premises are under video surveillance for the safety of citizens and Village staff.

- The compactor operator will refuse services if these rules are not followed.
