  • The DPW offers a monthly curbside pick-up of brush on the 1st Monday of each month in the Spring, Summer, and Fall.

  • Contact the Antrim County Construction Code Department at 231-533-8873 and the Village Zoning Administrator at 231-264-9274.

  • The Village Manager administers day-to-day village operations and provides support to the Village Council and citizens.

  • Coordinated and cared for by the Beautification Commission and Elk Rapids Garden Club, street trees are maintained by DPW staff (231-264-9971).

  • Contact the ER Township Clerk (231-264-9333), who oversees elections and provides voter information & registration services.

  • Call 911 for fire, medical emergencies, life-threatening events, crimes & vehicle accidents.

  • Call 911 to report all fire, medical, hazardous materials, and other emergencies. For non-emergency calls, contact the Fire Dept at 264-5161 or Ambulance Service at 264-5841.

  • Edward C. Grace Memorial Harbor is located on East Grand Traverse Bay and is open May 15 – October 15. Contact the harbor for information on dockage rates, ramp fees, and reserving the pavilion.

  • Contact the Antrim County Administrative office (231-533-6265) for details on periodic hazardous waste disposal.

  • The DPW (231-264-9971) is responsible for maintenance of streets, village parks, public lake/river accesses, water treatment & distribution, sewer & wastewater treatment, compactor operation, and other public equipment and facilities maintenance.

  • The DPW performs a leaf curbside collection service in the Spring and Fall.

    Please follow these guidelines to help crews work safely and efficiently.

    • Place leaves at the curb in loose piles. Do not bag leaves.

    • Keep leaves out of the street, gutters, and storm drains.

    • Do not mix sticks, brush, or other debris with leaves.

    • Keep piles clear of mailboxes, signs, and parked vehicles.

    Service is weather dependent, and schedules may adjust as needed. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • The Village provides free notary services to residents. Call 231-264-9274 to see when notaries are available.

  • The DPW (231-264-9971) is responsible for maintenance of streets, village parks, public lake/river accesses, water treatment & distribution, sewer & wastewater treatment, compactor operation, and other public equipment and facilities maintenance.

  • The Village office (231-264-9274) provides citizens with information and accepts water bills and village tax payments.

  • The Police Dept. (231-264-6592) provides services within the village, including investigations, patrol, records and communications, parking enforcement, crime prevention, and public information.

  • Located on Bridge Street in a lot South of the Police Station. It’s a self-service facility operated by Antrim County (231-533-6265).

    RECYCLING RULES:

    • Open to all residents.

    • Acceptable materials are: Steel & Aluminum Cans, All Glass Food Containers, Plastic Bottles/Containers, Newspapers, Magazines, Catalogs, Junk Mail, Corrugated Cardboard, Boxboard

    *ALL ITEMS MUST BE PLACED INSIDE THE RECYCLING BINS*

  • The DPW (231-264-9971) is responsible for maintenance of streets, village parks, public lake/river accesses, water treatment & distribution, sewer & wastewater treatment, compactor operation, and other public equipment and facilities maintenance.

  • The DPW supervises a curbside trash pick-up usually in May. You can find details of date, time, and allowed materials on the village website and in the newspaper, or call the village office with additional questions 231-264-9274.

  • The DPW (231-264-9971) is responsible for maintenance of streets, village parks, public lake/river accesses, water treatment & distribution, sewer & wastewater treatment, compactor operation, and other public equipment and facilities maintenance.

  • Garbage disposal for village residents is available at the Village Compactor — a self-service facility located at 8266 Herrman Road, Elk Rapids. Open Wednesdays 11 a.m. – 7 p.m & Saturdays 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

    COMPACTOR RULES:

    • All village residents must show compactor pass to operator before depositing trash.

    • 6 bag limit per day.

    • All garbage must be bagged.

    • Non-village residents must use special bags for garbage, which can be purchased at Village Market.

    • Operators will refuse service if rules are not followed.

  • The Village Clerk maintains village records, posts notices, prepares agendas & packets, and handles FOIA requests.

  • The DPW (231-264-9971) is responsible for maintenance of streets, village parks, public lake/river accesses, water treatment & distribution, sewer & wastewater treatment, compactor operation, and other public equipment and facilities maintenance.

  • The Village Planning and Zoning Administrator handles and processes all zoning and land use permit requests; provides information on zoning code.
