Spring Clean-Up is May 16

The Village of Elk Rapids, as part of Green Elk Rapids Days, will offer a Spring Clean-Up on May 16, 2015. Details on this service are below:

  • This curbside pickup service is for Village residents only.
  • This is a residential service only. Excluded from pickup are private streets, condominiums, mobile home parks and commercial enterprises.
  • All materials must be stacked neatly and placed behind the curb line by 7:30 a.m. on May 17, 2014.
  • No alley pickup.
  • Please do not place materials out early in the week as it is unsightly and could be subject to fines.
  • No household garbage shall be placed with spring cleanup refuse.
  • One cubic yard or less of building materials will be picked up.
  • White goods will be accepted. Refrigeration units must have certification attached verifying removal of refrigerant by a licensed vendor.
  • Refrigerator and freezer doors must be removed.
  • Excluded from curbside pickup: batteries, paint cans, rocks, asphalt, concrete, brush, yard waste, tires, and all hazardous waste such as chemicals, herbicides, and insecticides. These materials will not be picked up and it will be the owner’s responsibility to remove them from the street right of way.
  • Tires and refrigeration units with the refrigerant still in them can be delivered to the DPW parking lot from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., where they may be disposed of for a fee. The following fees will apply to certain items delivered to the DPW parking lot: Tires $6, Tractor Tires $10 (tires on rims are twice the fee), refrigerant removal $35.
