Ice Rink is Open! Join Our Celebration Fri, Jan 18 @ 4 p.m.

Grand Opening Celebration is Friday, January 18 at 4:00 p.m!

Join us for skating, hot chocolate, music, warming fire and fun!

Donated skates will be sharpened in advance by Cherryland Middle School students for part of their community service project! Thank you!  If you have skates to donate, now would be a great time! Drop them off now at village hall or at the warming shed. (If you are planning to borrow skates between now and Friday, please check availability first.)

Check this site or the official village Facebook page for updates. Celebration will be rescheduled if the ice melts.

Rink Rules:

  1. Skate at your own risk; wear a helmet.
  2. Keep skates on carpet pathway, NOT the tennis court!
  3. Have fun. Let others have fun.
  4. It is unsafe to mix “regular” skating and pond hockey.
  5. Pond hockey is the only type of hockey allowed.
  6. Yield the rink to those waiting an alternate use when you have had a reasonable turn.
  7. Have fun. Let others have fun.

Please treat each other with respect and enjoy the rink together.  If we experience conflicting use, the Parks & Rec Commission will recommend a policy based on your feedback. Provide feedback by calling village hall (264-9274) or email:; Subject Line: Ice Rink Policy

Skating is allowed until 10 p.m. If gates are locked, it is due to resurfacing. Gates are unlocked when ice is ready.    Yes, we soon will have a windscreen to control sand (and wind).                                                                          Interesting Fact: Ground is warmer than water, hence our inland lakes may freeze faster than our rink.
